Volunteer Release & Liability Waiver

In consideration of being permitted to volunteer with Lazy H Dog Shelter ("the Shelter"), I acknowledge and agree to the following: 1. Assumption of risk. I understand that working around dogs and in a kennel environment involves inherent risks, including bites, scratches, knock-downs, exposure to animals of unknown temperament, zoonotic illness, and slips or falls. I knowingly and voluntarily assume all such risks. 2. Release of liability. I release and hold harmless the Shelter, its staff, directors, and volunteers from any and all claims, demands, or causes of action arising out of my volunteer activities, except for harm caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct. 3. Safety and conduct. I agree to follow all instructions and safety guidance given by Shelter staff, to handle animals only as directed, and to immediately report any injury, bite, or animal-behavior concern. 4. Medical treatment. I authorize the Shelter to seek emergency medical treatment on my behalf if I am injured and unable to consent, and I accept responsibility for any resulting costs. 5. Photo release. I grant the Shelter permission to use photographs taken during volunteer activities for non-commercial promotional purposes, unless I notify the Shelter otherwise in writing. 6. Voluntary participation. I am at least 18 years of age (or have a parent/guardian's consent on file), am participating voluntarily, and may stop volunteering at any time.
